July 2005 Minneapolis was a great time, and great shows! Once again I was inspired by the wonderful energy of CLITfest on July 1-3 all of the bands we played with, the anti-sexism workshops that challenged how we think and act, and the energy that came together to make this important festival happen again this year. Thanks to the BREAST Brigade and Profane Existence crew for all their organizing work. The street show on July 4th organized by the Widget Corps took place on a home made stage in a park. Due to the patriotic holiday, the park and street were filled with families enjoying the nice weather, having a BBQ and waiting for the fireworks that evening. Playing our set in this community atmosphere was amazing- we spoke out against the Iraqi war, capitalism and the abuses of the Bush regime! And the kids danced! Thanks again to the punks who came out and to the Widget Corps for making punk more than about music! May-June 2005 Erika went on tour with Behind Enemy Lines to Europe! I videotaped the shows and hope to put out a DVD this fall. It was great to be back in Germany, France, Austria, Czech Republic and the UK and see so many friends from the Profits tour last October. BEL played energy-filled shows and were wonderful to travel with. Cheers! Meanwhile, back in Boston The Profits took a break and didn't play any shows. Adam and Jim kept busy however, and formed another band- The Lesser Evils- for fun and for th' punks! Check them out at www.lesserevils.com March 2005 Here are some photos from THE PROFIT$ playing the La Rivolta anarcha-feminist festival in Boston, MA on March, 5 2005. This was an amazing show, and also the first time Jim played drums with us on stage! You can read more about La Rivolta on their website www.larivolta.org. Also, I wrote an article about the event for Profane Existence #49, so get this anarcho-punk mag and read all about the workshops, fun times and struggles to organize teh first festival of its kind in Boston! solidarity
